Well, there is a charm & nostalgia in gazing at vintage posters and brand Ads, and off-course it's a pleasure beholding the one for the Royal Enfield Motorcycles ! 

Here we are going to start a series of posting some Royal Enfield vintage posters. Hope the readers of this blog find it as interesting as we did !

Love the mistake

“We are a traditional Rastogi family and we get marry in early age, I was married at the age of 20 so when I turned 40 my son grew up to 20. We are great friends and I don’t want to take this undue feeling of being a generation old Dad or Uncle as they suggest me to rest in. No, I think it's all in our mind, I mean I’m still fit & young and want  to seek adventure, do what I couldn't  in my life earlier due to family and business obligations”, says 52 years young entrepreneur & a micro financier Mr. Sanjiv Rastogi of Lucknow, who keeps it all interesting while riding to different parts of India with his son Suchittvan.

More interesting is the story of his new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 CC cruiser, which he has recently owned, has a little mistake in text stickers as model name was misspelled as Tnunderbird ('h' missing and replaced with an extra n) instead of 'Thunderbird' at left side panel. Realizing the trivial factory mistake the brand store manager promised Mr. Rastogi to get the panel changed but he refused saying, “I will keep it as it is, for it will a unique sign of my motorcycle”.

Sounds weird but true is the passion for the brand and the generosity of their lovers that they even love the mistake.

1000 CC Royal Enfield V- Twin finally custom made by Aniket Vardhan

Further to our Royal Enfield V- Twin story, here is the demonstration video of 449+449 CC Royal Enfield V- Twin engine finally custom made by Aniket’s Vardhan. 

Mr. Vardhan, a US- based Indian teacher who had earlier developed a   V-Twin Engine by a pair of 349+349 traditional Royal Enfield cast Iron barrel, has now successfully improved by this 449+449 CC version of similar V-Twin.

Royal Enfield announces new CEO

It is learnt from the The Hindu news that the Royal Enfield now has Mr. B. Govindarajan as the new Chief Executive Officer in place of  Dr. Venki Padmanabhan who now takes over as the Head of New Initiatives for Eicher Motors (The parent company of which Royal Enfield is a unit now since 1994).

With an initial installed capacity of 1.5 lakh units per annum by March, 2013, Royal Enfield is now wishing to start its new plant soon at Oragadam, near Chennai. Managing Director Mr Siddhartha Lal  said earlier, “We will completely shift vehicle production in a phased manner to the new plant. Our plan is to utilise the old plant for developing and producing engines for the bikes, adding that engine manufacturing capacity will also be increased to 1.5 lakh units annually from 70,000 units at present.

Royal Enfield Twin Engine : History to repeat soon

It is learnt that after the success of the new UC Engine, Royal Enfield is now aspiring to repeat the history by its Cafe Racer and also by now working on a big Parallel Twin Engine. It really tickles the fancies of many middle age guys  who still recall the powerful 750 Interceptor of 1960's days, here is an interesting new video & article at visordown.com from Aniket Verdhan, the guy famous for developing a 350+350  V-Twin Bullet, is now working on to redesign a 998 CC version his Musket V-Twin.

Now when the race is on for what comes first: the Verdhan’s powerful V-Twin Musket or the RE’s own Big Parallel. Whichever it'll be, the Royal Enfield Lovers are now to see a big twin beauty soon…………

One Love, One Passion from a Harley to a Royal Enfield

Just visited the Harley Davidson India facebook page and had seen some great beauties of Chromed & Painted. 

I've been asked many times for what I feel or say about the Harley Davidson India after giving my heart & soul to a British Classic and writing the Royal Enfield Blogs here.  My answer comes from a recent post I read on the same page as Willie G. Davidson says:

“Harley-Davidson owners, myself included, will tell you that their motorcycles are very close to the center of their lives. When we’re not riding them, we’re thinking about them.”

now I don't think anyone fails to understand the One Love, One passion that connects the two legends. The chrome reflected the same Sun,

and whether on a Harley Heritage or on a Royal Enfield Classic we carry the same dream on that highway of freedom where the road never ends.........
